OVERVIEW
About Granola
Granola is an AI notepad for people with many meetings. It captures your computer's audio, so no bot joins the call, and it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and in-person meetings. You type rough notes as usual, and Granola combines them with the transcript to write full notes. On the Business plan it also prepares a short brief before external meetings, drafts follow-up emails and can send notes to HubSpot, Attio or Affinity.
Briefs are prepared overnight for meetings with people outside your company. They are usually two or three bullet points drawn from past notes, your calendar, the public web and, if you connect it, Gmail. Briefs need Google Calendar, and Granola says they can sometimes be wrong. Follow-up emails and Chat actions are drafts that you review and send, but notes added to a synced folder are copied to HubSpot automatically. Because there is no bot, you must tell participants yourself that the meeting is being transcribed.
What the workflow does
- Bot-free transcription: Transcribes from your computer's microphone and system audio on Mac and Windows, with mobile apps too; nobody extra joins the call.
- Enhanced notes: Combines the notes you type with the transcript to produce structured meeting notes.
- Pre-meeting briefs: On Business and Enterprise, prepares a short overnight brief for external meetings from past notes, calendar details, the web and optional Gmail.
- Follow-up email drafts: On paid plans, drafts a follow-up after external meetings; you edit it and press Send from your connected Gmail.
- Sharing and CRM sync: Shares notes to Slack and Notion, and on Business syncs notes to HubSpot, Attio or Affinity; Salesforce needs Enterprise.
