Agent platform

Meta Muse for small business: what it does and recipes to try

Muse is Meta's personal AI agent. You ask for a task in one conversation, connect apps such as Gmail and your calendar, and Muse works on its own virtual machine with a browser. It can repeat tasks daily or weekly, and it asks before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase.

Who can use it

  • Age 18 or over
  • US and Canada
  • Web at muse.ai, iOS or Android
  • Free for most uses; paid plans for more
  • Sign in with a mobile number or email

What Muse can do

  • Tasks

Ask for a task in your Muse conversation. Muse works through the steps and comes back when something changes or when it needs your approval.

Example: Find the quotes I sent last month that got no reply.

  • Scheduled tasks

Repeat a task daily, weekly or on a custom interval in your time zone. All scheduled tasks are listed under Upcoming, and they run until you cancel them.

Example: Every Monday at 09:00, list this week's supplier renewals.

  • Connectors and browser

Connect Gmail, a calendar and business tools such as Shopify, QuickBooks, Stripe and Slack, and let Muse use a browser on its own virtual machine.

Example: Check tomorrow's meetings and find the related email threads.

Set up your first Muse task

  1. Check that you qualify: age 18 or over, in the US or Canada.
  2. Open muse.ai or the Muse app on iOS or Android and sign in with your mobile number or email.
  3. Open Settings, then Permissions, and choose Ask for some actions, so Muse asks before writing anything and before important reads.
  4. Open Settings, then Connectors, and connect only the apps your task needs, such as Gmail.
  5. Pick a recipe below, copy its setup prompt and send it in your Muse conversation. Check scheduled tasks under the Assistant icon, then Upcoming.

What to check before you trust it

  • Start read-only: ask for lists and draft text in the conversation before you let Muse change anything.
  • Test with the recipe's fictional sample before you connect real accounts.
  • Keep Ask for some actions or Always ask in Settings, Permissions, and choose Deny for any approval the task does not need.
  • Review the Activity log to see what Muse did, and check Upcoming after it saves a scheduled task.
  • Meta does not review custom connectors, so grant them access with care.

Good to know

  • Muse availability, connectors and limits can change, and Meta's announcement describes a US rollout while the business page lists the US and Canada.

We have not run these setups ourselves. Recipes are written from public Muse documentation, and their examples are illustrative.
