Agent platform

Grok Bot for small business: what it does and recipes to try

Grok Bot is an always-on AI agent you use with a Cursor or SuperGrok account. You create a Bot for one job, connect apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive and Sheets, and give it tasks. It works on its own cloud computer, can run routines while your laptop is closed, and asks before actions you choose to approve.

Who can use it

  • Paid individual Cursor plan or Cursor Teams
  • Or a linked SuperGrok, Plus or Heavy plan
  • Desktop app for macOS, Windows or Linux
  • iPhone and Android apps
  • Cloud data storage, not Legacy Privacy Mode

What Grok Bot can do

  • Bots

Create a Bot for one job, give it lasting rules in its description and work with it in one conversation.

Example: A Bot that sorts your inbox each morning and drafts replies.

  • Routines

Ask a Bot to run a task on a schedule. Routines run in the background, even while your laptop is closed, and show their next run. A Bot can own up to 50.

Example: Every Monday at 9:00, list the quotes that got no reply.

  • Apps and browser

Connect Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Slack, Notion and more, and let the Bot read web pages with a browser on its own cloud computer.

Example: Check tomorrow's meetings and find the related email threads.

Set up your first Grok Bot task

  1. Check that you qualify: a paid individual Cursor plan, Cursor Teams or a linked SuperGrok subscription, on an account that does not use Legacy Privacy Mode.
  2. Download Grok Bot from x.ai/bot, choose Sign in and finish signing in in your browser.
  3. Choose New, then Create new Bot. Name it after its job and put lasting rules, such as never send email without approval, in Edit Profile.
  4. Choose Connect apps and add only the apps your task needs, such as Gmail. Pick a recipe below, copy its setup prompt and send it to your Bot.
  5. For a schedule, open View conversation details, then Routines, and check the routine's next run, its history and that it is on.

What to check before you trust it

  • Start read-only: ask for lists and draft text in the conversation before you let the Bot change anything.
  • Test with the recipe's fictional sample before you connect real accounts.
  • There is no read-only mode. Connect only the apps a task needs and choose Deny for any approval the task does not need.
  • Approvals requested during a routine expire after about 10 minutes, so keep sending and changes for times you are watching.
  • Test run in Routines does real work with your connected apps. Use safe inputs.

Good to know

  • The official getting-started guide does not list supported countries or age limits.
  • Grok Bot menus, app connections and limits can change; check the official docs before setup.

We have not run these setups ourselves. Recipes are written from public Grok Bot documentation, and their examples are illustrative.
