OVERVIEW
About incident.io
incident.io is an incident management platform for engineering and operations teams. When something breaks, it opens a dedicated channel in Slack or Microsoft Teams, assigns roles and tracks status and severity. It builds the incident timeline as you go from updates, pinned messages and connected tools such as GitHub and Sentry. It also covers on-call scheduling and public status pages.
The AI features are on the Pro and Enterprise plans. Scribe joins incident calls as a bot, transcribes them and posts summaries and key moments to the channel. AI post-mortems draft each section from the timeline, chat and findings, and the docs call the result a starting point, not a finished document. Chat messages and call audio are processed by AI subprocessors, so check the data and redaction settings first. The separate Investigations add-on changes your systems only through a pull request that a person reviews and merges.
What the workflow does
- Incident channels in Slack or Teams: Declares incidents, creates channels, assigns roles and runs workflows inside the chat tool your team already uses.
- Automatic timeline: Builds a timeline from status changes, pinned messages, GitHub pull requests, Sentry errors and other events, which you can edit.
- Scribe call notes: On Pro and Enterprise, joins Zoom, Google Meet or Webex incident calls, transcribes them and posts summaries and key moments.
- AI post-mortem drafts: On Pro and Enterprise, drafts post-mortem sections from incident data, then reviews your text against the record with inline suggestions.
- On-call and status pages: Schedules on-call rotas, pages responders and publishes a status page for customers.
FROM INPUT TO RESULT
How the workflow works
You provide
- A Slack or Microsoft Teams workspace.
- Alert sources and code tools such as GitHub or Sentry.
- A post-mortem template with AI instructions for each section.
- A call provider such as Zoom or Google Meet for Scribe.
You get
- A sourced incident timeline without manual note-taking.
- A first post-mortem draft ready for the review meeting.
- Faster catch-up for people who join an incident late.
- 1
Start on the free Basic plan and run a test incident to check channels, roles and the timeline.
- 2
Move one team to Pro, turn on Scribe and an AI post-mortem template, and use them on a few real incidents.
- 3
Compare the AI drafts with the team's own understanding in the review meeting, then adjust templates and redaction settings.

IS IT A GOOD FIT?
Who it’s for
A good fit for
- Engineering teams that run incidents in Slack or Microsoft Teams.
- Teams that write post-mortems after most incidents and want a first draft.
- Organisations that want paging, incident coordination and a status page in one tool.
Not the best fit for
- Teams that cannot send chat messages or call audio to AI subprocessors.
- Teams that only need occasional manual incident notes, since the AI features need the Pro plan.
Strengths
- A high overall G2 rating from about 228 reviews.
- The one Trustpilot reviewer praises the flexible data model and steady product improvement.
Limitations
- The G2 figure comes from a search snapshot, so review content could not be read directly.
- Reviews describe the wider platform, not the newer AI features.
- Trustpilot has only one review, which is not a meaningful sample.
