OVERVIEW

About Huntr

Huntr is a job search tracker with a resume builder and a Chrome extension. The extension saves job details from sites such as LinkedIn and Indeed to a board, where you track each application by stage with notes, contacts and dates. It can also fill in application forms from your Huntr profile, so you type less on each one. The resume tailor compares your base resume with a job description, gives a match score and suggests changes one at a time. The free plan tracks up to 100 jobs with unlimited autofill, which covers a focused search.

Huntr does not apply to jobs for you. Autofill puts your details into the form, and you check it and submit the application yourself. Tailoring works on resumes kept in Huntr's builder, so import your existing resume or LinkedIn profile first and check the result. Huntr says its tailoring rephrases and repositions without inventing anything, but you should still check every suggested change against what you actually did. Pro removes the job and AI limits but has no trial, so test the free plan on a few real applications first.

What the workflow does

  • Job tracker board: Tracks jobs by stage with notes, dates, salaries, locations, contacts and a map view.
  • Chrome job clipper: Saves job details from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter and employer career pages; on other sites you paste the details in.
  • Application autofill: Fills editable application form fields from your Huntr profile on sites that allow the extension; you check the form and submit it.
  • Resume tailoring: Compares your base resume with a job description, shows a match score and suggests changes you accept, edit or ignore one by one.
  • AI cover letters and messages: Drafts cover letters and follow-up messages from your profile and the job description.

IS IT A GOOD FIT?

Who it’s for

A good fit for

  • Job seekers sending many applications who want a visual board instead of a spreadsheet.
  • People who fill in long application forms on many employer sites.
  • Job seekers who want to approve each resume change rather than accept a full rewrite.

Not the best fit for

  • Anyone who wants applications sent automatically.
  • People who want to keep editing their resume only in Word or Google Docs.

Strengths

  • Easy to use, with a clear board for tracking applications.
  • Resume tailoring that shows missing keywords is often praised.

Limitations

  • The review sample is small.
  • One reviewer found autofill unreliable on some forms.
  • One reviewer said tailoring only worked with resumes built in Huntr and that live support was not available.
