A short mistake note and one follow-up check answered by the learner
Illustrative example · fictional input
- Example input
- Fictional completed practice. Q1, own practice sheet paragraph 2: "A room is available only after 14:00. Is 13:30 an available start time?" My answer: yes. Checked explanation E1: no, because 13:30 is before 14:00. I have not explained my thinking yet. Review Q1 and ask me one reflection question first. Do not make up my reason.
- Example result
- Illustrative result, not a recorded run: first response: What did you think “only after 14:00” allowed when you chose 13:30? The assistant waits for the learner’s explanation before writing a mistake note or giving a follow-up question.
The first response asks about the learner’s reasoning and waits. The assistant does not assign a cause from the wrong answer alone. The final note keeps Q1’s location and the checked time distinction. A follow-up answer is withheld until the learner tries.
What you need
Start with one question rather than building a large mistake log. Supply your attempt and the checked explanation, then explain your thinking in your own words. The assistant asks one question at a time and helps you make a short note. Keep the note only if it helps you practise again.
- A ChatGPT account with access to Work on the web. Check your current account allowance; usage depends on your plan.
- Use notes you are allowed to share. Paste them in ChatGPT with the prompt; no plugin, API key, project or custom bot is needed.
- Keep the original material available for the short review below. Missing optional details can stay unknown.
Set it up
- Open ChatGPT in your browser, sign in and select Work if available in your account. Start a new chat for this task.
- Copy the prompt below and paste it into ChatGPT. Add the notes listed under What you need in the same message, in their current form. Keep the default option or change it here first. The assistant will start with your inputs; no separate setup conversation is needed.
- Answer the reflection question yourself. Check the short note against the trusted explanation, then try the follow-up before reading its answer.
