What you will get
A data-quality workbook, rule decisions and a separate cleaned copy after approval
Illustrative example · fictional input
- Example input
- Fictional CSV exercise. Customer codes are text. Blank amount means unknown. Currency is EUR. The only approved cleaning rule R1 is to trim surrounding spaces in status; allowed statuses are paid and pending. Do not approve any other rule. customer_code,status,amount,date 001,paid,10.00,01/02/2026 002, pending ,20.00,2026-02-03 002,pending,20.00,2026-02-03 003,PAID,,2026-02-04 Create the profile and a separate copy applying R1 only. Keep repeated codes, letter case, unknown amounts and ambiguous dates for review.
- Example result
- Illustrative result, not a recorded agent run: Four rows remain. Only row 2 status changes to pending. Code 001 keeps its zeroes. Repeated 002, PAID, the missing amount and 01/02/2026 remain unresolved. The known EUR amount sum stays 50.00; it is not presented as a complete total.
Confirm field meaning and any rule that changes, merges or removes values. Check the before/after totals and change log before replacing or importing data.
What you need
Start with the file you already have and explain what you want to use it for. The assistant computes a profile, shows the affected rows and proposes a small set of rules. After your approval, it creates a cleaned copy and a change log. It does not guess which records to merge or which missing values to invent.
- A ChatGPT account with Work, file uploads and file creation available. Check your account limits before uploading; this guide requires no API key or app connection.
- Use copies of files you are allowed to share. Upload them in ChatGPT, not on JuicyAgents. Keep originals and unnecessary personal information out of the working copy.
- The assistant must actually read the files, run the requested checks and provide working download links. If those tools are unavailable, it must explain the limitation instead of claiming the job is complete.
Set it up
- Keep the source file unchanged. Upload a CSV or simple XLSX table to a new ChatGPT Work chat, paste the prompt, and state what the data will be used for.
- Review the generated profile and grouped rule questions. Approve only the exact transformations you want; unsupported values should stay unchanged.
- Download the review workbook, cleaned copy and change log. Compare counts and totals, then decide whether to use the new file in your normal process.
Your setup prompt is ready
Copy the ready prompt, or customize it with the settings. Paste it into ChatGPT Work to give it the task rules.
Customize (optional)
Defaults are ready to use. Changes update the prompt here; paste it into your agent to apply them.
Schedule: When I ask.
Questions first leads with decisions that block cleaning; By data field leads with the profile. Both cover the same file.

Review checks, limits and sources
Not tested by Juicy Agents. The examples are fictional, not recorded agent results.
Check the result
- All four rows remain, including both 002 records.
- Only surrounding status spaces change under R1; PAID is not silently normalised.
- The ambiguous date, missing amount and leading zero are preserved.
- Known amounts total EUR 50.00, with one unknown amount stated separately.
- The change log identifies the one modified cell and its approved rule.
Known limits
- Not tested by JuicyAgents. Examples are fictional and do not establish accuracy, usefulness or saved time.
- A profile reveals patterns, not their business meaning. Duplicate entities and missing-value treatment require owner decisions.
- The working copy is a plain data table, not a guarantee of preserving advanced workbook formatting, formulas or external links.
If something goes wrong
- Unexpected type changes: reload identifiers as text and compare the raw values before cleaning.
- Too many questions: group repeated issues into rules and resolve only those affecting the intended use.
- File too large or unreadable: report the exact scope and request a smaller export; do not label a sample as the full file.
